You are warmly invited to join the Maple City Community Orchestra and the Goshen Community Chorale as they perform a combination of inspirational and sacred music on Saturday, November 22 at 7:30pm in the Sauder Concert Hall at Goshen College.
This concert features two works by Johannes Brahms, including Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny) and the third movement of his Requiem (with soloist Dr. Scott Hochstetler, Professor of Music at Goshen College).
Other pieces in this concert include To Sit and Dream – the words of poet Langston Hughes set to music by Rosephanye Powell; “Pie Jesu” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Requiem; “There shall a star from Jacob rising” from Mendelssohn’s oratorio Christus; and Take What You Need by Indian-American composer Reena Esmail.
This concert is free and open to the public. Freewill donations are gratefully accepted at the door.
