Please join Victoria Petrak and the Maple City Community Orchestra for the first concert in our 25th season, “Musical Landscapes”.

Our journey ranges across the globe, from Borodin’s Steppes of Central Asia through the river lands of Strauss’s Blue Danube and Frost’s Themes from the Moldau, to views from the Appalachian Trail in 3 Sketches of Unblemished Earth by Jordan Jinosko and scenes of rural Ohio in Hymn for the Heartland by Onsby C. Rose.

A special feature of this concert is the St. Joseph River Suite by local composers Marvin Curtis, former dean of the Raclin School of the Arts at Indiana University South Bend, and Bryan Edington, singer-songwriter and instrumentalist. Composed for the WNIT documentary Then, Now, and Always… The St. Joseph River Story, this music explores the people, places, and history of the river that “has shaped the region and continues to be an integral part of our community external link “.

This concert is free and open to the public. Freewill donations are gratefully accepted.
